Description

The Gr.OS drop-side semitrailer is a practical delivery vehicle for any sector of the economy where transport is needed that provides high productivity at the lowest cost of transportation. 

From transporting concrete products and palletized cargo to big bags with raw materials and large-volume welded structures – the drop-side semi trailer shows maximum functionality in any task. 

Tried and tested design solutions and quality control at every stage of assembly are the key to reliable and fault-free operation of Grunwald drop-side semitrailers. The spar flanges, as before, are made of Swedish steel and are welded on both sides during assembly.

The semitrailer is easily transformed into an open-top platform due to removable sides and pillars. Flooring is made of moisture- and abrasion-resistant laminated plywood with anti-skid coating for reliable unloading of the semitrailer by a loading machine. The front portal is assembled with high-quality aluminum section. Glasurit paints and varnishes manufactured by BASF concern are used in painting.

The paintwork materials used for surface coating as well as the techniques used to apply them conform to relevant ISO requirements for severe climatic conditions. Prior to being painted, structural elements are thoroughly shot blasted.

Axle system and suspension

In basic configuration, the chassis is based on axle system comprising 3 axles with capacity of 9 tonnes each. A reinforced version of the axle system is used which has proven itself in work in Russian road conditions and on long working distances. The basic semitrailer configuration includes a mechanism of the front lift axle.

Braking system and electrical equipment

The braking system, manufactured by Wabco, is based on disk-type braking mechanisms and is equipped with the Wabco Premium EBS modulator. The lighting equipment installed on the semitrailer is Ermax TM11 diode optics - the most advanced lighting equipment on the market, which is made from high impact polycarbonate, and is also dust- and water-proof – an important feature for extensive driving on highways. When a turn is performed, the turn signal light is duplicated by the side lights of the semi-trailer, which helps establish a safer driving environment for all road users.

Cargo fastening system

26 floor-embedded hinges are installed along the perimeter of the flooring for reliable cargo fastening. The basic configuration of the Gr.OS drop-side semi-trailer has 20 holes for the installation of metal bolsters and holders for securing the removed bolsters on the frame side members. The quantity and height of removable bolsters supplied with the semitrailer are set according to the customer's requirements.

At the request of the customer, the semitrailer delivery package may be upgraded to include the following additional options:

  • BPW HD axle system with capacity of 9 tonnes per each axle;

  • Drum brakes;

  • Increased hitch height (up to 1250, 1350, 1400 mm);

  • Aluminum sideboards 800 or 1000 mm high;

  • Front portal of increased height;

  • Set of bolsters of different height, 8 or 16 pcs;

  • Pallet box for 24 europallets;

  • Rear lift axle;

  • Custom color scheme.

Certification

Grunwald’s semitrailers are certified in accordance with the latest certification rules published by the Federal Technical Regulation and Metrology Agency of the Russian Federation (Rosstandart) and conform to the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Warranty

The warranty period for the semitrailer structure shall be the lesser of 12 months from the time of initial registration or 24 months from the time of manufacture, as recorded in the Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin.

Applicable warranty and
servicing obligations shall be fulfilled by a specialized Grunwald service
center in Moscow (Sheremetyevo) or by any service station which is
a member of Grunwald’s authorized service network.
